It’s a wonderful thing to have a place to call home – specially when it’s a beautiful, airy sunlit room with view. From next week Bikebuddha yoga will be running a new Tuesday evening class in a bright, wooden-floored regular home with plenty of space and a great location.
It will be a real treat to be able to offer a new mixed ability class at a time most people can make – 7-8pm on a Tuesday – and in a place most people can get to. Insight Therapy Centre is slap bang in the middle between Chapel Allerton, Harehills and Chapeltown and not far from Headingly either. Classes will run in this lovely converted Victorian house with a scented garden and free parking just overlooking the north side of Potternewton Park on Harehills lane LS8. Just come to the door at the side and press the button marked ‘yoga’.
The class will be mixed ability and suitable for beginners. We’ll be working our way through a balance of yoga postures, focusing on problem areas like backs, knees and shoulders. We’ll be working with the breath and mindfulness to help with stress relief and anxiety. There will be calm, kindness and a welcoming feeling to everyone who comes along. And there’s no need for any special clothes or equipment, just wear something loose.
Anyone interested can just turn up on the night, it’s a drop-in class, so no need to book. It’s a reasonable £6 so that it’s affordable for most people and if you’re unwaged concessions are available. Either pay cash on the night or email for bank details.
I hope people who don’t normally do yoga will find this a really supportive place to give it a go. There’s absolutely no doubt that yoga is incredibly good for you – mind, body and spirit. Just one hour a week of gentle and mindful movement will make an incredible difference to quality of life. If you’re a bit further on your yoga journey the class will offer something for you too.
I’m going to be in this lovely space doing yoga every Tuesday evening – whatever happens. It would be great if people join me.
Hope to see you there.
